This site, halcyondaysnovel.com, is operated by CALM Studios, Ltd. ("we," "us," "our"), a company based in Northbrook, Illinois. This page explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email acbishkey@halcyondaysnovel.com.

What we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Specifically:

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, including pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type. Google sets cookies to do this. The data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.
• Information you send us. If you fill out the form on our contact page, we collect your email address, which is required, and your name and message if you choose to provide them. We use this to reply to you and, if you ask, to add you to the reader list for advance copies.

We do not ask for payment information on this site, and we do not knowingly collect anything beyond the above.

How the contact form works

Our contact form is delivered by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a third-party service that forwards form submissions to our email. When you submit the form, your entry passes through FormSubmit and arrives in our inbox. FormSubmit's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the ones used by Google Analytics, described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine without analytics cookies.

Third-party services

A few outside services are involved when you use this site:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC), for usage analytics.
• FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), for contact-form delivery.
• Substack, if you subscribe to our newsletter. Subscriptions are handled on Substack, under Substack's privacy policy.
• Amazon, if you follow a link to buy a book. Your activity there is governed by Amazon's privacy policy.
• GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which hosts this site and may log standard request information such as IP addresses.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except as needed to operate the services above or to comply with the law.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to respond to your messages, to send advance copies and updates if you have opted in, to understand and improve how the site performs, and to keep the site secure. That is the extent of it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep form submissions and email for as long as we need them to stay in touch with you, and analytics data for the period set in Google Analytics. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email we send or from within Substack.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses of it. To make any of these requests, email acbishkey@halcyondaysnovel.com and we will take care of it. You can also opt out of analytics and unsubscribe from the newsletter as described above.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be noted here.
